What I like about Lisa sign, we are bombarded with sales pitches and fund-raising stories.
These people knock on my door more often than JW's.

so i have been studying early christianity a bit and noticed that before christianity really took off after 325 ce, there were a lot of religions.
gnostics teachings , belief in all sorts of different gods from egypt to greece .
the practice of emperor worship etc.
So the Bible is about four different religions, OT, Jesus, Paul and Rev.
i really fail to see how much actual "witnessing" is occurring with the trolley carts.publishers, usually pioneers, just stand or sit there not engaging anyone and count their time.. the only thing i notice that it's accomplishing is brand exposure for jw.0rg so the public is exposed to the logo and literature/poster card headlines.. take for example this "evening" witnessing by a pioneer elder while on summer holiday/vacation.. .
is this not a wth kinda moment when you consider the years of slaving, knocking on doors, business territory and bible studies we had to keep performing so we weren't branded a "weak" publisher?.
Today people avoid any kind of solicitation on the streets and doors.
Girl Scout cookies are still going strong but any other tables or carts set up in front of
banks, Wall-Mart or supermarkets irritate folks. What happen when folks come across
charities stands, they look the other way. JW's are late to the game of solicitation. LOL
The KH in my area set their carts in the door way of the KH, do they really think that
someone will walk up to the steps of the KH and ask for a publication. Most people cross
over to the other side of the street.
he is an old friend that used to attend my congo.
he moved away closer to his parents at some point and we lost touch.
for a couple of years i did not hear anything from him.
StarTrekAngel: Be careful in your lunch conversations, they may think you are a terrorist.
The waiting staff only hear," yes 144000 are guaranteed to be saved" , soon they
believe blood will be in the streets, the latest info on how to handle chid abuse, and
very soon it will only be them on earth".
Or maybe they will think you are insane. But good for you, you found a ex-JW friend.....

From the earliest days Christians missionaries were active, look at Paul's travel
route. At that time, only Buddhism was a missionary religion and its focus was
mainly in the east. All other ancient religions had no interest in spreading.
They were great at selling their religion...
